Update 1.1
glatiles » Devlog
The first update of glatiles is out! While some huge stuff is in the works (and plans), this update is purely Quality of Life. Let's get right into it!
Moving on to be data-driven
- Added data saving, only used to save the last level that's been played (for now). The default levels are already stored in a new way but this doesn't mean much yet
- The following updates will introduce the ability to create levels using a level editor and share them using light-weight files
Visual and UI changes
- Enabled the use of HiDPI, allowing high quality text rendering
- Remade sprites to be 64x64 instead of 32x32, as well as polished some sprites
- The window can now be resized, smoothly fitting its contents into any window size
- The menu now displays the game version and has a button to quit the game
- Max value for the level input is fixed to 27, the current amount of levels in the game
- Arrow tiles now visualize how they move the player instead of instantly teleporting it to the end
- The player movement speed is now consistent (and fixed to 0.2s per tile + 0.1s delay between moves)
Controls
- Patched diagonal moving
- Arrow keys now work properly
- R and Backspace can now be used to restart a level, Q and Escape to quit to menu and Space and Enter to move on to the next level
- Move keys can now be held to move continuously
